Runar recently graduated with a master degree at the Conservatoire of Maastricht in the class of Carlo Marchione, one of the most prestigious guitar classes of Europe. Runar won the first prize in the international competition “Giovani Talenti” in San Bartolomeo al Mare, Italy in 2007,  second prize in the third international Niksic guitar competiton 2008 and second prize in the first international guitar competition in Veria, Greece. Before coming to Maastricht Runar specialised in 20th century music in Strasbourg, France under the guidance of Alexis Muzurakis from the successful “Duo Melis”. After finishing his Bachelor studies in Kristiansand, Runar left his native country,Norway, after being invited to study with the French guitarist Gerard Abiton.


Runar is playing on a Gernot Wagner Spruce/cedar double top guitar, with Hannabach strings.







In november 2010 Runar released his debut album "Masterpieces", where he recorded F. Defossa, J.S. Bach and J. Manen. All of them masterpieces of music.
